About us
Who are we?
Hi I’m Simon and I am the founder of Friends4Life Petcare Services.
I was born and raised in Cardiff, with my family originally coming from Morganstown.
I have now returned to live here again with my partner Ceri and her teenage children.
I’ve spent my life around animals; as a child having pets within our family from hamsters, budgies,
rabbits to my childhood friend Crib my wire haired terrier.
As a farmer I have also had a lot of experience with larger animals, such as Cows, Sheep and Horses.
During my time as a farmer I trained Meg, a working collie, who was not only great at herding sheep
and cows but was a much loved family member.
When we lost Meg in December 2010 to cancer, I then found myself agreeing to foster a rescue dog
that came into our lives in March 2011. Fostering soon turned into adoption, and Ffion is now a happy
lovable dog who loves nothing more than to curl up on a settee. She now enjoys going out for walks,
very different to when she first came to us, being very scared of being outside and not showing any
normal “dog” behavior. To help Ffion’s confidence we adopted another rescue dog in 2013, this time
Coco, a husky/collie cross, who has brought a lot of energy into our lives. Coco loves nothing more to
be out and about, on the go and meeting new people and places. Ceri had 2 dogs of her own,
Harley, a Labrador, who can usually be found keeping Ffion company on the sofa and Shiro, a
young springer spaniel, who is a ball of energy and always happy. That makes up our home.
We have a passion for animals large and small and will treat every animal in our care as if they are
our own. The welfare and health of all our animals is always our prime objective.
I am licensed by Cardiff City Council.
I am fully insured and DBS checked.
I hold a qualification in animal first aid.
